SFPTI

South Florida Proton Therapy Institute

The South Florida Proton Therapy Institute (SFPTI) is a radiation oncology center that opened in 2018 on the campus of Delray Medical Center. Led by Medical Director Tim R. Williams, M.D. and featuring the most innovative technology available, SFPTI provides those in Palm Beach County and the surrounding communities with a tremendous new resource in the fight against cancer.

Dr. Williams has more than 30 years of radiation oncology experience and is among the most trusted and respected radiation oncologists in South Florida. Dr. Charles Shang is the Director of Medical Physics and Radiation Safety Officer, and works closely with the oncology team to devise the safest and most effective treatment plans for SFPTI’s patients. He is one of the industry’s preeminent medical physicists and has been practicing for over three decades — more than 20 years in South Florida.

The staff – although it’s more of a family – at SFPTI possesses remarkable depth and diversity of experience that is second to none. Team members have, on average, 16 years of experience in the medical and / or radiation oncology field. In addition to their vast knowledge and training, the team members at SFPTI have genuine compassion and love for those they treat, and are motivated by a desire to improve the quality of life for their patients throughout their course of treatment, recovery and ongoing care.

This state-of-the-art cancer center, built and powered by Proton International, is located at 5280 Linton Boulevard on the Delray Medical Center campus.
